The Senate has constituted a committee to look into the cause of the Hajj Stampede, that left over 60 Nigerians dead, scores injured, and many still un-accounted for.
The Senate hinted this, when they finished the first sitting after their recess.
A lawmaker, who went for the Hajj in Saudi Arabia, Sen. Gbenga Ashafa said the Nigerian medical team work hard, and as a result, the death toll was reduced.
Ashahfa also said the Saudi government should be blamed for the stampede.
The Senate has also mandated the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to liaise with the Saudi embassy in Nigeria to ascertain the actual number of Nigerian casualties.
